Printer Salesman Thinks He Has Catchy Jingle

The paper won't get Pearl Jammed

STAMFORD, CT – Xerox printer and photocopier salesman Rob Goodrich believed he had the perfect jingle for a new ad campaign.

Goodrich explained his jingle idea to coworkers over lunch in the employee lounge. “So our new printer starts singing, ‘I print in color I print in hues, can’t find a better scan,’” Goodrich sang, to the tune of “Better Man,” the hit by 90’s rock group Pearl Jam. “It’ll be great,” he added.

“A couple of weeks ago Rob had a similar jingle,” coworker Betsy Fern said. “It went like, ‘Won’t stall or falter…’ or something. He said it was to the tune of ‘Daughter,’ also by Pearl Jam.”

“Rob actually pitched a jingle to me,” Suzie Tanaka, head of advertising, said. “It was another singing printer. It went, ‘Oh Buy-y, ohh, buy XPJ-5,’ I think that’s ‘Alive’ by Pearl Jam. He must have a thing for them.”

After pitching his idea to his coworkers, Goodman invited them to his band’s performance this coming weekend. The band, Vedder Off Dead, mostly plays Pearl Jam covers.
